Small Business Saturday with Vetiera Fair Trade & Haiti Projects
Since 2010, entrepreneurs and shoppers around the US have celebrated Small Business Saturday — showing extra support for the small businesses creating products and offering services that make our communities better. As a small fair trade company and public benefit corporation, we are humbled every year to be a part of this nationwide celebration and share the story of our partner farmers in Moreau, Haiti.
This year, we have extra-special news to share — since early 2023, we have been collaborating with Haiti Projects to create new opportunities for farmers and artisans across rural Haiti. Based in the Fond des Blancs region of southern Haiti, this organization partners with local entrepreneurs, schools, and health services to promote prosperity and wellbeing for women and their families. As part of this work, Haiti Projects employs seamstresses and other makers to create handcrafted products under the Maison D’Haiti brand — including aprons, dishtowels, sachets, and much more.
In collaboration with Haiti Projects, we are proud to offer special bee-embroidered lavender sachets in our small holiday gift bundle — paired with our Bee Good, Do Good lavender lip balm and lavender lotion bars. We are also honored to share our beeswax lip balms and lotion bars through Maison D’Haiti; this partnership ensures that our supporters can find eco-friendly and socially beneficial products for daily needs, gifts, and more.
Long-term relationships, environmental sustainability, and collaborative business practices are core to our work — which is why we are so excited to partner with another organization in Haiti that shares our values and objectives. Stay tuned for more updates and collaborations!
